$1,390 Stimulus Checks Are On the Way: Here’s What You Need to Know

A new $1,390 stimulus payment has been approved to give millions of Americans a much-needed financial boost as inflation continues in 2025.

What Is the $1,390 Stimulus Check for 2025?

The government has approved a one-time $1,390 payment to help households manage rising living expenses.

Unlike previous stimulus checks tied to emergencies, this payment is aimed at easing financial stress caused by inflation and economic slowdowns.

 

Who Qualifies for the $1,390 Stimulus Payment?

You may qualify based on income and benefit status.

Income Requirements:

  • Single filers: Up to $75,000/year

  • Married filing jointly: Up to $150,000/year

  • Heads of household: Up to $112,500/year

Automatic Eligibility for Social Security recipientsSSI (Supplemental Security Income) recipients, and Veterans receiving VA benefits.

If you’re in these groups, no application is needed. Payments will be processed automatically.

 

When Will You Get the $1,390 Payment?

Payments are expected to start in August and continue into September 2025.

  • Direct deposit: Fastest for those with banking information on file with the IRS or SSA.

  • Paper checks or prepaid cards: May take a few weeks longer to arrive by mail.

To avoid delays, ensure your bank and mailing information are updated on the IRS or SSA websites.
